Spending on energy efficiency is projected to grow this year as the economy improves and business capital inclines…and that is especially good news for the commercial building energy efficiency sector, according to Johnson Controls’ fourth annual Energy Efficiency Indicator report. 
U.S. Vice President Joe Biden kicked off Earth Day with the announcement that $452 million will be allocated for the Recovery Act to support a “Retrofit Ramp-Up” in a speech at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
In efforts by the U.S. Administration’s efforts to improve the environment, Biden stated that the program, which is aimed at encouraging owners of commercial buildings and homeowners to seek additional energy savings and efficiency measures, will make energy efficiency affordable for hundreds of thousands of businesses and homeowners, and create tens of thousands of jobs in the process. Worldwide energy demand will continue to rise faster than supply and will put increasing pressure on already soaring energy prices. It would behoove businesses to be more energy efficient due to this fact.
